Week 2 in Year 6

Hi students and parents,

It has been a fun packed week in Year 6 and this afternoon we had our House Captain and Vice Captain votes. A huge well done to all the children in Y6 who gave a speech this afternoon. Make sure you are in school on Monday to find out who has been nominated for your house colour!

We have started all our normal learning this week in class. In Maths we have been looking at rounding numbers to the nearest million. In English we have been improving our grammar knowledge and then applied this to a variety of different activities. In Science we have continued learning about the organs in the human body, and specifically the heart.

However, the highlight of this week has been in CCS where the students have made their own Egyptian art work. The Y6 students researched different styles of Egyptian head wear and hieroglyphics and then made their own drawing. Afterwards, we tea stained the art work to make it look like it was made thousands of years ago in Ancient Egypt.

Have a great weekend and check out some of the photos from Y6A below.
