Science Investigation - Exploring fitness through Pulse

This week, students in Year 6 have been exploring how their heart beat increases and decreases through various kinds of movement.  We investigated what happens to our heart rate when we rest, as well as when we participate in different kinds of activities including skipping, jumping on the spot and running.

We discovered that after periods of physical, cardio activity, our hearts beat much faster than when we are at rest. We also hypothesised that the fitter we are, the faster our heart rates return to normal.

It was a fun, if slightly exhausting investigation and we are looking forward to graphing our results next week!
