Happy Chinese New Year!
Despite all the pollution, and even an extra day off, it has been another fun week in Y6. Today was Chinese New Year in school and we had a fantastic assembly this afternoon from the Mandarin department.
In class we have continued our Harry Potter project. The students have been beginning to plan a setting for their fantasy story and came up with lots of interesting ideas such as an enchanted forest, floating islands and a mythical tree house. In maths this week we have been learning algebra. At first, lots of the students thought it would be hard, however after a few days of learning algebra their feelings changed and they began to see how simple and enjoyable it can be : )
