Term 2 Week 5 in Y6

Dear parents and students,

Week 5 is over! Only week 6 is left before the half term holiday! Woo Hoo!

This week has been the beginning of our new science and CCS topics. We began looking at living things on Earth and how they can be classified into many different categories. In CCS we started our art project and learnt about a famous artist named Frida Kahlo and some of her most famous pieces of art.

In English we are coming to the end of our fantasy narrative topic. The students have been writing up the final version of their story and next week will make a stop - motion animation to show a scene. In maths we have been continuing to learn about converting different measurements. In an investigation this week the students had to estimate the length (cm and m) of different objects in the playground. After that, they went outside to see if their estimates were close to the correct measurements. We also did a similar experiment in the science room to investigate the capacity of different containers (ml and l).

Here are some photos from Y6A -

Have a great weekend.
